This glass bridge stretches for 1,400 feet and hovers 1,000 feet above a portion of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It’s considered the longest and highest glass bridge on the planet and is so strong that it once withstood a car being driven over top it…after someone smashed one of the glass panels on it with a sledgehammer! It’ll definitely get your adrenaline pumping for a while when you take a trip over it.
Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie, Hunan, China
Located just 50 miles away from the Zhangjiajie glass bridge, this glass walkway hangs off the side of a cliff and is about 4,600 feet off the ground. It has three different sections for people to enjoy, including the breathtaking Coiled Dragon Cliff that stretches over 325 feet long.
Glacier Skywalk in Jasper National Park, Canada
Want to enjoy an incredible view of the Canadian Rockies? This skywalk is U-shaped and extends out about 100 feet to give people the chance to look down almost 1,000 feet at the beauty that exists in Canada.
Dachstein Skywalk in Salzburg, Austria
Although this glass overhang doesn’t extend out very far, it sits almost 9,000 feet above the Alps and features a viewing platform with a glass bottom as well as a “Stairway to Nothingness” that provides a fantastic view of the nearby Dachstein Glacier. It’s guaranteed to get your heart pumping!
